Redemption Grace Period (RGP) is a status that occurs after your domain expires. The expiry period lasts approximately 40 days, then RGP status takes place for a duration of approximately 30 days. After those 30 days, there is a 5 day window the registry takes to release the domain name back to the public. During the 5 days, the domain name can't be recovered (just during the 70 days before). When a domain enters RGP status it is recoverable through your domain manager by clicking the link in the blue banner at the top of your page (Recover my domains) and also it must instead be recovered at the registry. There is a larger financial penalty for recovering RGP domains. To recover an RGP domain please login to your Rebel account and ensure your payment information is updated in the Account Settings page first, then follow these steps:
Step 1.
Click the following link to login to the RGP Manager.
Step 2.
Check the box next to the domain in your RGP Manager and click Recover.
Step 3.
You will be taken to the shopping cart where you can confirm your order and payment details. Check the box that reads I agree to the terms and conditions of Rebel then click Process Order.
If you have a .CA domain in RGP status, please contact our Customer Experience team for other recovery options.
