Note: SPF Records should also be created as a TXT record, as many servers only look at TXT records for SPF instructions. Any changes that you make to your Advanced DNS settings can interrupt your service. If you are not an advanced user, we strongly recommend that you not change these settings without consulting our support department.
To create SPF records please follow these steps:
Login to your Rebel account and click Domain Manager.
Click directly on your domain name to access the edit page.
On the domain editing page, select the DNS tab. Scroll down to Manage Advanced DNS Records and click on New Advanced DNS Manager.
|Important: If your domain is currently set to Use Third Party Hosting the Advanced DNS will only be allocated with your hosting service provider. If the name server information for your domain is currently set to Park with Rebel, Forward Domain or Host with Rebel you will be able to access the Advanced DNS from within your Rebel account.|
To add an SPF record, click the button to Add New Record and set the Record Type as SPF. Fill in the Alias and Record fields as instructed by your hosting service provider. You can leave the TTL as it is. Click the green button to Save.
If you are hosted with Rebel and looking to prevent email spoofing, a TXT record can be applied to your domain so that only Rebel's mail servers are authorized to send mail on behalf of your domain. This is done using the same steps as above, setting the Text Record Type as TXT.
|Note: This information is only applicable if you are hosted with Rebel, and do not use any other mail services for sending mail.|
Host : your domain name
Record : "v=spf1 mx ip4:126.96.36.199 ip4:188.8.131.52 -all"
When editing the Advanced DNS for a domain that is already set to Park with Rebel, Forward Domain, or Host with Rebel, the propagation time will be approximately 1-2 hours. If your domain was previously pointed to third party nameservers, updates can take up to 24-48 hours to propagate worldwide, though we find it's typically much closer to 6-12 hours.
