When you transfer your domain to us, your existing nameservers are retained. This means a domain transfer will usually not cause downtime for your website, email, or other services using your existing DNS.
When Should I Prepare My DNS Records?
Some providers may only allow you to use their DNS service while your domain is registered with them.
Before transferring your domain, check with your current provider to confirm whether your existing DNS service will continue working after the transfer.
If your current provider will not continue providing DNS service, make a copy of your current DNS records before transferring your domain.
If you decide to use our DNS service, you will need to change your nameservers and recreate the required DNS records.
If you change your nameservers, allow time for DNS propagation. Nameserver changes can take anywhere from a few hours to 48 hours to propagate.
