WordPress needs a specific login and password to access the database. The login credentials are stored in the wp-config.php file. If the password to access the database is changed for any reason, then you will need to update this file as well. If the login credentials do not match, WordPress will not be able to connect to the database.
You can alter the wp-config.php file through FTP connection or follow the steps below to edit the file in your Control Panel.
Classic Hosting (Pathfinder, Adventurer, Globetrotter)
Step 1:
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see “Hosting”. Please select this.
Step 2:
Click directly on Control Panel for the intended hosting package.
Step 3:
On the left-hand side menu, click on "Tools", then "File Manager".
Step 4:
Click the root folder for your site, usually either public or rbl_wordpressm or dac_wordpress. If you have a WordPress site, you can open the wp-config.php file by clicking the white page icon to the far right of the file.
Step 5:
Find the line below:
/** MySQL database password */
define('DB_PASSWORD', '12$forexample$%^');Replace the current password inside of the apostrophes with your new password.
Scroll down to the end and click "Save as".
Plesk (Personal/Startup/Business Hosting, Managed Wordpress, VPS)
Step 1
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see “Hosting”. Please select this.
Step 2:
Click directly on Control Panel for the intended hosting package.
Step 3:
In your domain's dashboard, click on "Files" under your domain name
Step 4:
The database password can be changed by clicking directly on wp.config.php file.
Edit the required info and click OK
