This article covers the steps involved with purchasing and installing the SSL certificate in your Personal/Startup/Business Web Hosting and Managed WordPress Hosting.

How do I purchase an SSL certificate?
To purchase an SSL certificate for your domain name, please follow these steps:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see “SSL”. Please select this.
Step 2.
In the upper right corner, you will see the option to "Proceed with SSL Purchase." Please select this.
Step 3.
A pop-up will appear with some notes and tips on creating the SSL. Once you have finished reading, select "Proceed".
Step 4.
You will see our three SSL options, of which you can purchase. For the one you would like to purchase, please click "Select" at the bottom. Once you have chosen your SSL package, click "Proceed" in the bottom right corner.
Step 5.
On this page, you will be able to modify your SSL certificate. You can choose from a Single Domain (Standard) SSL or a Wildcard (Multiple Sub-Domain) SSL.
- If you are purchasing a standard SSL, be sure to enter your domain as www.[yourdomain] to secure both your root domain and the www. subdomain.
- If you are purchasing a wildcard SSL, be sure to enter your domain as *.[yourdomain] to secure all subdomains such as www.yourdomain.com, mail.yourdomain.com, etc.
Once you have completed this step, click "Add to cart" on the right-hand side.
Step 6.
You will be taken to your shopping cart, where you can verify your order details, check the box next to I agree to the Terms and Conditions, and finally click "Process Order" to begin the transaction.
Note: You will need to generate your Certificate Signing Request (CSR) with your third-party host and determine your approval email. If you are unsure of how to generate a CSR in your third-party hosting package, please contact your hosting provider.
How to generate CSR?
What you will need to get started:
- A hosting package with your domain attached
- An email address from the approved list of addresses to receive the SSL approver email
- You can simply create/delete the email in your hosting package as needed.
To start the process, you'll need to create the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) in your Hosting Package.
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see "Hosting”. Please select this.
Step 2.
Please select the "Control Panel" button for the desired hosting package, and this will open up your new OS tab.
Step 3.
In your Dashboard for your desired domain, please select "SSL/TLS Certificates"
Step 4.
You'll see a list of the certificates you already have, if any, and an option to upload an existing certificate. Please click on "Advanced settings".
You are then able to select "Add SSL/TLS Certificate"
Step 5.
Add the domain name for the certificate you want to install, and fill in all necessary fields with your organization's information.
The required fields are marked with an asterisk *
If you do not have a company name, you can use your first and last name.
Step 6.
Once the form is filled out, click "Request".
You'll be returned to the SSL screen, and you should see your certificate populated in your list.
Step 7.
Click on the domain name/certificate request to view the properties, and scroll down to the CSR. It should look like this:
Copy all of that text, including the parts that read -----BEGIN/END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
You will use that CSR to generate your SSL Certificate.
How to generate SSL certificate?
If you have purchased an SSL for your domain through Rebel, you will have an SSL certificate listed in your SSL Manager. Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, then select "Products" in the top-left corner. In the top toolbar, you will see “SSL”. Please select this.
Step 2.
In your SSL Manager, you will see User input required under the status section of your new SSL. To the right of this, you will see "More Actions"; click this drop-down menu.
Step 3.
From the drop-down menu, select "Complete SSL".
Step 4.
A pop-up will appear. Please select "Proceed with SSL Completion" once read.
Step 5.
With the CSR created in Plesk, you will be able to paste this in the field below. Once pasted, please click "Validate".
Step 6.
Confirm your CSR information is correct. If it is not correct, please confirm the information with your third-party provider first. If it is correct, select "Next".
Step 7.
Fill in your Contact Details, and select the drop-down for Approver Email. This is the email address that will receive the validation link for your SSL. Select "Submit Application".
Note: Within the email, you will need to click the link, open the webpage and select "I APPROVE" for the SSL to become active.
Note: If you do not have any of the preset email addresses listed in that section, please contact our Customer Service team for a TXT record validation. Once your SSL has been validated, it will be active and ready for download.
Step 8.
In your SSL Manager, you will see Processing under the status section of your new SSL. To the right of this, you will see "More Actions"; click this drop-down menu.
Step 9.
From the drop-down menu, select "Download Certificate".
Open the ZIP file, and you will be able to see several formats for the certificate.
How to install SSL certificate?
Here are the steps for installing your SSL certificate while hosted at Rebel: If you have purchased an SSL for your domain through Rebel, you will have an SSL certificate listed in your SSL Manager.
Step 1.
Your downloaded certificate includes several files, and the two in particular we'll need are the ones labelled X509.cert and INTER.cert
To do so, navigate back to your SSL/TLS Certificate section in your Hosting package.
Step 2.
You should see your (incomplete) SSL certificate listed. Click on the certificate/domain name to return to the page where you copied the CSR in the above steps.
Scroll down to the section that reads Upload the Certificate Files.
Step 3.
Besides Certificate (*.crt), you should click Choose File and select your X509.cert file
Beside CA certificate (*-ca.crt) you should click Choose File and select your INTER.cert file
Then click "Upload Certificate".
How to redirect a site from HTTP to HTTPS?
Once the files are uploaded, you will need to apply that certificate to your domain.
Step 1.
Go back to the main page of your Hosting package and navigate to the Hosting Settings:
Step 2.
In the Hosting Settings, under the SSL/TLS support section, you will be able to check the two boxes and select your wanted SSL from the drop-down menu.
Once you have done this, you will be able to "save" changes.
