A wildcard SSL certificate is a public key certificate which can be used with multiple sub-domains of a domain. This certificate type applies to the original domain and any subdomains, such as “mail.example.com” or “blog.mysite.com”.
Wildcards can only be applied to one subdomain level at a time, meaning domains like "login.mail.example.com" or "test.blog.mysite.com" will not be covered.
How do I purchase a Wildcard SSL?
You can purchase through the following instructions:
Step 1.
Login to your Rebel account. Click the Security drop-down menu at the top of the page, and select SSL.
Step 2.
Scroll down, and you will find the SSL certificates available, as well as a brief overview of each package. You can click Compare Plans beneath each certificate for more information about our certificates and to view a comparison chart for all certificates.
Step 3.
Once you have decided which SSL certificate you would like to purchase for your domain name, click Get Started.
Step 4.
On this page you will be able to modify your SSL certificate. Choose Wildcard (Multiple Sub-Domain) SSL. Be sure to enter the common name as Enter your domain as *.[yourdomain] to secure both your core domain and all possible subdomains. Entering www. will cover all subdomains possible preceding a www., such as "mail.www.example.com".
Once you have completed this step click Proceed to Checkout.
Step 5.
You will be taken to your shopping cart where you can verify your order details, check the box next to I agree to the Terms and Conditions, and finally click Process Order to begin the transaction.

Step 1.
Return to your Rebel account. Select My Account in the top, right-hand corner of the screen.
From the drop-down menu, select SSL Manager.
Step 2.
In your SSL Manager, you will see "User input required" under the status section of your new SSL, next to a red pencil icon.
Hover over the red pencil, and select the "Complete SSL" option.
Step 3.
Insert the CSR you received from your host, and select "Validate".
Step 4.
Confirm your CSR information is correct. If it is not correct, please confirm the information with your third-party provider first.
If it is correct, select "Next".
Step 5.
Fill in your Contact Details, and select an Approver Email. This is the email address that will receive the validation link for your SSL. Select "Submit Application".

How do I download and install the certificate?
Once the certificate is active, you will see a black and white arrow icon in your SSL Manager, where the red pencil icon used to be.
Hover over the icon, and select "Certificate".
