If your payment doesn’t process successfully or your domain or service hasn’t renewed as expected, don’t worry. This is usually easy to resolve and doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve lost your domain or service.
Why a Payment Might Fail
Payments can fail for a few common reasons:
Expired or outdated credit card details
Insufficient funds or a declined transaction
Billing address mismatches or incomplete payment info
Temporary issues with PayPal or your bank
Account holds or verification requirements
When a renewal attempt fails, we’ll notify you by email. Every three days, up to four times, we will automatically retry the payment before turning off auto-renew for that service.
How to Fix It
Here’s what to do if you get a payment failure notice or your renewal hasn’t gone through:
Check and update your payment details in your account, make sure your card is current, billing information is correct, or PayPal is linked properly.
Retry the payment manually if needed, or contact our support team, and we can help process it for you.
If you are unable to log in to your account due to a hold, please contact our customer service team, and we will be happy to help.
If your domain has already expired, in many cases, it can still be recovered. You are also able to reach out to our support team to see how else we can recover your domain.
When a service is set to auto-renew, attempts happen well before expiry, so even if the first one fails, there’s usually plenty of time to resolve the issue and keep your services active without interruption!
If you need further help or are confused about what the next steps are after a failed payment, please reach out to our customer service team.
