Enabling an application-based two-factor authentication (2FA) system is one of the best ways to keep your Rebel account secure. This helps prevent unauthorized logins, even if someone has your password. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to enable app-based 2FA on your Rebel account:
Step 1.
Log in to your Rebel account, select “My Account” in the left-side menu, then from the top toolbar, click “Security”.
Step 2.
On the right-hand side you will see your current method of authentication, it should state "SMS Text". To change it to the authentication app select "Authentication App" and "Confirm Changes" afterwards.
Step 3.
The first step is a verification code sent via text message to the phone number currently on file for 2FA. Enter the code in the designated field, then click “Confirm.”
Step 4.
Next, you’ll be prompted to scan a QR code using your authenticator app, we recommend using Google Authenticator. There is also the option to copy the code provided. Once the code has been scanned, click the "Confirm" button.
Step 5.
You will then be prompted to input the code by your newly added authentication app. Please enter the correct code and click "Confirm".
Step 6.
If the code is entered correctly, you’ll see a confirmation message letting you know that the authentication app has been successfully enabled. From now on, you’ll use this method to verify your identity each time you log in to your Rebel account.
